Binlerce Yıllık Bir Hikâye, Yeniden Yazılıyor

A Thousands of Years Old Story Is Being Rewritten

Cotton is one of the oldest fibers in human history. It comes from the earth and carries within itself the sun, wind, and labor. It has been one of the simplest touches between people and nature, binding cultures together for thousands of years.

Cotton, a part of our lives for nearly five thousand years, has a history stretching from Ancient Egypt to India, from Anatolia to Latin America. It carries the story of warm climates and the shared heritage of civilizations.

By the 18th century, cotton had become central to the industrial revolution. Steam-powered machines first began producing cotton yarn. Home looms gave way to factories; production accelerated, and trade expanded. Cotton ceased to be a mere fiber and became a symbol of a new world. But while production increased, nature remained silent. Rising demand pushed the limits of water, land, and labor. Today, after that acceleration, it's time to rebalance.

Cotton is natural, but when production methods are unsustainable, nature suffers. Conventional cotton farming is one of the world's most water-intensive agricultural practices. Pesticides deplete soil, pollute water resources, and weaken ecosystems. However, when grown using the right methods, cotton is beneficial to both nature and humans.

Organic cotton production uses up to ninety percent less water than conventional production. Natural methods are preferred over chemical pesticides. This allows the soil to breathe, farmers are not exposed to chemicals, and our skin is protected from harmful residue. Organic cotton is, in essence, a return to cotton's essence, a renewed appreciation for the land, labor, and nature.

At ThinkWhite, we don't view cotton as just another fabric. We work with natural, certified, and long-lasting cotton, crafted by women. Because we believe cotton is a simple connection between nature and humanity. We want our clothes to leave no mark on our bodies and leave no mark on the future.

Today is World Cotton Day.

It's time to protect the future of cotton while respecting its past.
